COACh- Creating Opportunities for Autistic Children
Students who are considered for placement in this program are age appropriate for Pre-K –Gr. 12+ and have a multidisciplinary diagnosis of an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The classrooms are highly structured, well-staffed and offer a consistent and systematic approach to instruction. Behavior specialists and consultation and professional development are available to classroom teachers on an ongoing basis. COACh Classrooms are available for eligible students from ages 3-22yrs old.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
Valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary https://www.doe.mass.edu/licensure/ Education https://www.doe.mass.edu/licensure/ in Severe, All Levels or Moderate Disabilities 5-12

Knowledge of current education legislation/regulations
Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children in order to effectively problem solve
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders
Experience in urban district/setting preferred
Ability to meet the expectations of the Massachusetts Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching Practice
An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism, and bias, and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities
